George was born in the sanctuary. His mother is Ginger. First his name was Gingerson until he was adopted by people who named him after the band of their son: “Why George”.

Ginger was found in Pos Chiquito together with some other donkeys. She had a baby that died of colic and one son who is still in the sanctuary: George. 

Identification mark: Gingers neckmuscle is too long. Her head is red/brown.

Identification mark: Because grandpa was shot in his leg, you can see that he walks a bit stiff.

Don Juan a.k.a. Grandpa earned his name because he only used to come over to visit our ladies when they were in heat. He jumped the fence several times and probably made some babies.

One day he was standing in front of the gate with five bullets in his legs. Somebody tried to shoot him. Why? We don’t know. From that day on, Don Juan decided to stay in the sanctuary and have a calm and peaceful life. He was one of the donkeys that moved to Bringamosa, but together with Crooked Ear he found a hole in the gate and within a week he was back in Santa Lucia. Because he was born around 1970-1975, he is an old donkey now and he cannot live up to his name anymore. So most of the time we just call him: Grandpa.

Jake was the first baby that was born in the sanctuary. His mother is Blanca and his sister is Surfi. 

Identification marks: Jake is black, bigger and taller than Ban Ban.

Jolly Jumper was born in the sanctuary. His mother is Sasha and he was born August 13th 2003. He is a half brother and nephew of Eva.

 Identification mark: JJ is still a lot with his mother. He has a small head.

Juanito was born on the 20^th of june in 1999 as a premature and his mother Maud wouldn’t accept him. She was standing on his ears and even brook one of his legs. So Juanito was raised with the bottle. Because he was a premature he still is very small and he won’t grow any further. 

Identification mark: Where Tica is, Juanito is. Juanito is very small. Watch it: Juanito could bite you!!
